Truth or Dare: Who’s fooling who in West Bank? 09.05.2012 “This was neither the time nor place to create such a media stunt, not with children having been invited along, who were in a real danger of getting hurt,” Sarah Madsen
New facts are emerging about the incident that took place on 14th April on the West Bank, when a Danish protester was knocked to the ground by an Israeli soldier. The event was widely reported in the media, but the real truth about the event was not told. A Genocide that could have been avoided 03.02.2012 Most of Rwandas population belongs to the Hutu ethnic group, who are traditionally agriculturists. For 600 years Rwanda attracted Tutsis - traditionally herdsmen. The two groups shared the business of farming, essential for survival, between them. They all referred to the Tutsi king and shared language, culture, and there were intermarriages.
A wedge was driven between them when the European colonialists entered the scene. It was the practice of colonial administrators to select a group to be privileged and educated 'intermediaries' between the Governors and the governed. The Belgians chose the Tutsis: landowners, tall, and to European eyes the more aristocratic in appearance. Some Tutsis began to behave like aristocrats, and the Hutu felt ill treated. www.newtimes.dk/showarticle.php?mode=show&id=282

Rejected Somali asylum seekers demonstration revisited 26.10.2011 Sometime in July, a group of rejected somali asylum seekers took to the streets, and ended up demonstrating in front of the Parliament for a couple of days. But according to Mr. Mohamed, one of the most active members of the board of the Somali rejected asylum seekers, this seemingly isolated case is just the tip of the iceberg if one has to ponder the relevance and significance of the plight of rejected asylum seekers, approaching the issue from a broad angle of view. He was willing to grant New Times a follow up interview in retrospect, shedding more light on the matter. www.newtimes.dk/showarticle.php?mode=show&id=273
Andy Madadian Concert in Copenhagen 26.10.2011 Andy Madadian, a famous Iranian singer, was born on the 21st of April, 1959, in Iran to ethnic Iranian-Armenian parents. When the 1979 Iranian Revolution took place, he left Iran for the United States. He continued his career in Los Angeles, California. Today he is very famous with the Iranian people and others around the world.
Andy gave a concert in Copenhagen on the 30th of September. I had the opportunity to be a bodyguard for the concert. The concert began at 8 at night but lasted until 2 in the morning. People were excited. They screamed, danced and had a great time during the concert. I had an opportunity to eat dinner with Andy before the concert and he was very kind to me. This was important to me because during my childhood in Iran I heard his different songs and I loved him so much. When the concert finished many of his fans took a picture with him, and I did not miss the chance! www.newtimes.dk/showarticle.php?mode=show&id=272

The solar system at a glance 07.10.2011 There are billions of galaxies in the cosmos and each of them contains billions of stars and solar systems revolving around them. We are just a tiny whit in the Universe. Just think if there are billions of solar systems, can we alone in the Universe? This is just impossible, scientists believe that there are at least fifty thousand solar systems with different kind of life. Whenever I look at sky in night I hope we shall meet someone someday from outer space and it just fascinate me. This fascination of different kind of lives and systems and how do they work prompted me to write an article about our Solar System because we are aware only of our Solar System and outer space is yet to be explored. www.newtimes.dk/showarticle.php?mode=show&id=268

The Pride Parade 27.09.2011 The gay pride parade has been an extension of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender). For many centuries the LGBT community has been oppressed and forced to stay in the closet by the heterosexual “straight people“ . Pride is a word that means self respect and worthiness, hence the gay community came up with the word to bring a sense of their achievements, their value, raise their self esteem, to fight the prejudice and the victimization in the society . The community uses the rainbow flag which actually looks like a rainbow but with 6 colours although they differ based on tradition. It portrays the diversity of the people, these colours being red (life), orange (healing), yellow (sunlight), green (nature), blue (harmony), and purple/violet (spirit) . This flag was made by a San Fransisco artist named Gilbert Baker in 1976. www.newtimes.dk/showarticle.php?mode=show&id=265

not wanting to go back 28.01.2008 An opinion piece by Salim - The first thing I will say is that the present Iraqi government is not good. To Sign or Not to Sign - That is the Question 09.10.2007 Can a new initiative really help rejected Iraqi asylum seekers or is it a trap by the government to get rid of them? Thus in June 2007, the government produced a package for rejected Iraqi asylum seekers; those who would be willing to cooperate with the authorities on their repatriation. www.newtimes.dk/showarticle.php?mode=show&id=36
